This was the closest race of all – no one ever could win the award with such a low percentage of the votes (24%) as Celine van Duijn from the Netherlands. Since Italy’s 7-time winner Tania Cagnotto called it a day, the race for this title is as tight as it could be but this year produced a really close contest. Van Duijn was a surprise champion in the 10m event and the voters seemed to appreciate her great efforts, though Italy’s Elena Bertocchi came second by a small gap while the remaining three divers received the same number of votes, each only one less than Bertocchi.
